Pathogens isolated from bovine clinical mastitis and their antimicrobial resistance

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study aimed to isolate aerobic and microaerophilic bacteria from mastitis milk samples, as well determine their antibiotic resistance. A total of 196 bovine samples were tested by standard bacteriological methods with API identification test kits. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. The results revealed that predominant S. aureus, an isolation rate 28%, followed Streptococcus spp. (27%) E. coli (19%). Isolation rates for Corynebacterium spp., Mycoplasma Pseudomonas aeruginosa 11%, 6%, 4%, respectively. Compared mentioned above, lower percentages observed Trueperella pyogenes (2%), Pasteurella multocida Klebsiella pneumoniae (1%). broad evaluation antimicrobial resistance showed pathogens resistant tetracycline (68.63%), oxytetracycline (41.57%), ampicillin (39.08%), ceftiofur (38.1%), cephalexin (32.26%), penicillin (31.25%), amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (24.53%), enrofloxacin (24.44%), gentamycin (23.68%), trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (22.09%). demonstrated sources isolated both contagious environmental. More importantly, present demonstrate a critically high in dairy cattle. For instance, isolates crucial commonly used recommended antimicrobials, including (100%), (83.33%), (94.44%). this may provide valuable information about clinical aspects infections current levels

Antimicrobial activity of essential oils against pathogens isolated from Bovine Mastitis

Treatments for bovine mastitis based on antibiotic therapy are not always effective which may lead to faults in recovery of diseased animals, selection of resistant bacteria and the presence of antimicrobial residues in milk. In this context the use of essential oils configures as an alternative to control mastitis pathogens in dairy cows because they have antibacterial action against gram-posi...

Antimicrobial resistance patterns to beta-lactams of gram-positive cocci isolated from bovine mastitis in Lithuania.

The aim of the study was to isolate gram-positive cocci from cows with mastitis and to determine their resistance to beta-lactamic antibiotics. Eight hundred and nine strains were isolated and identified as staphylococci (n=516), streptococci (n=199) and enterococci (n=94) from sub-clinical and clinical cases of bovine mastitis in Lithuania. The most common causative agents of udder disease inc...
